  • Duration: 60 minutes
  • Total Questions: 75
  • Maximum Marks: 75 (1 mark per question)
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Pass Percentage:
    • UR/EWS: 40%
    • OBC (NCL): 30%
    • SC/ST: 25%
    • Applicable to Ex-Servicemen as per their category.

Syllabus:

  1. Mathematics:
    • Topics: Number System, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cisterns.
  2. Mental Ability:
    • Topics: Analogies, Alphabetical & Number Series, Coding & Decoding, Mathematical Operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagrams, Data Interpretation, Decision Making, Similarities & Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement-Based Questions, Assumptions & Arguments.
  3. General Science:
    • Covers Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences (10th Standard level).
  4. General Awareness:
    • Topics: Current Affairs, Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Important Personalities, Economics, and Politics.

Second Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT-2)

Purpose: The CBT-2 is the primary determinant of the candidate’s eligibility for further stages (CBAT and Document Verification).

Pattern Overview:

  • Divided into two parts:
    • Part A:
      • Duration: 90 minutes
      • Questions: 100
      • Marks: Counted for merit.
      • Pass Percentage: Same as CBT-1.
    • Part B:
      • Duration: 60 minutes
      • Questions: 75
      • Marks: Qualifying only (35% for all categories).
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for incorrect answers.
  • Normalization: Applies to both CBT-1 and CBT-2 for exams held in multiple shifts.

Part A Syllabus:

  1. Mathematics:
    • Similar to CBT-1 with additional focus on problem-solving speed and accuracy.
  2. General Intelligence and Reasoning:
    • Expanded scope with topics like Analytical Reasoning, Statement-Based Questions, and Complex Problem Solving.
  3. Basic Science and Engineering:
    • Topics: Engineering Drawing, Units, Measurements, Mass & Density, Work Power & Energy, Speed & Velocity, Heat & Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers, Simple Machines, Occupational Safety, Environment Education, IT Literacy.

Part B Syllabus:

  1. Trade-Specific Knowledge:
    • Questions are based on the candidate’s chosen technical trade.
    • Examples of trade-specific topics for qualifications:
      • Electrical Engineering: Topics like Electrician, Wireman, Instrument Mechanic.
      • Mechanical Engineering: Topics like Fitter, Diesel Mechanic, Refrigeration Mechanic.
      • Automobile Engineering: Topics like Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Tractor Mechanic.
